Suzy Cui is well known in Southwestern Ontario as a top Asian Cooking Instructor, Personal Chef and Caterer.

Born and raised in Beijing, China, Culinary Instructor Suzy Cui comes from a long line of cooks. Her great-grandparents and grandparents were all employed as cooks for Puyi, the Last Emperor of China. Her father spent much of his childhood in the Emperor's kitchen with his grandmother, assisting her in many culinary tasks. To be chosen to cook in the Emperor's kitchen was indeed an honour and a testament to your culinary skills. Surrounded by respected cooks Suzy developed a love for the art at an early age and grew up learning to prepare traditional Chinese dishes fit for an Emperor.

Upon moving to Canada she was employed by various restaurants where she was tutored in Chinese/American food prep. She began a catering business of her own, Wok with Suzy, in which she caters to both public and private functions. She was constantly questioned as to how to prepare her dishes so she began Chinese culinary instruction at various facilities throughout Southwestern Ontario.

"Cooking classes should be both fun and delicious." Anyone who has attended Suzy's classes will attest to that. "My goal in doing the cooking demonstrations is to show people that preparing Chinese dishes is easier that you think. Cooking is creating your own dishes and cooking is history with lots of stories."

Always in search of new ideas and techniques Suzy travelled to China in 2009. She was tutored by the renowned chef, Teng Teng Hai. In the summer of 2011 she returned to her country again, this time participating in cooking classes at Beijing Yi Qin Cooking School of China focusing on Chinese Fusion Cuisine.

In addition to her expertise in the culinary arts, Suzy is also a travel specialist, organizing private tours to China featuring both food and culture.
